The original roughly 20-hectare site was created from 1896 and opened in 1901; later extensions made it one of Cologne’s largest cemeteries.

Origins: Laid out from 1896 and inaugurated on 1 April 1901. The cemetery is in Zollstock, Rodenkirchen borough, at Höninger Platz 25, 50969 Köln. Its area is approximately 61.54 hectares.
